Quoi de neuf docteur ? (Growing Pains) est une série télévisée américaine créée par Neal Marlens. Elle comporte 166 épisodes sur 7 saisons ainsi que deux téléfilms. L’intrigue est centrée sur la vie de la famille Seaver composée de Jason, le père psychiatre, sa femme journaliste, Maggie, et de leurs enfants Mike, Carol et Ben.

Pitch

La famille Seaver vit à Long Island dans l’état de New York. Le docteur Jason Seaver (Alan Thicke) est psychiatre, il exerce depuis son domicile depuis que sa femme Maggie Malone (Joanna Kerns) a repris son métier de journaliste. Jason s’occupe donc de la maison et des enfants : le turbulent Mike (Kirk Cameron), la première de la classe Carol (Tracey Gold) et l’exubérant Ben. L’éduction des enfants n’est pas toujours de tout repos mais les problèmes ne sont jamais insurmontables. Jason et Maggie décident même d’avoir un quatrième enfant, Chrissy (Ashley Johnson) et lorsque que Mike quittera la maison familiale, ils accueilleront le jeune Luke Brower (Leonardo DiCaprio).
